Recorded for Phil Walden's Capricorn, this is a lost classic of southern swamp Funk and Blues, similar to the Allman Brothers, most of whom contributed (except Greg and Dickey Betts) and Taj Mahal!! This album is worth it. Johnny tackles Bob Dylan's "Down On The Cove" with great southern funky fire, similar to how Stax or the Muscle Shoals bands would have approached the track. Plus Johnny blows some great Blues harp. This is probably as close to a mix of Blues and Funk as one can get, along with Albert King's Stax work!!Tracklisting:
